Rustin Jones was born and raised in Greeneville, TN in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. He still lives there today with his wife and two children. He has been teaching Social Studies for the past 19 years. The first 10 of those were at the high school level teaching Government and Economics and the last nine have been teaching 8th grade United States History at Greeneville Middle School. He is currently teaching in the same classroom that he took 8th grade U.S. History in, so life has come full circle. Rustin is also the 8th grade team leader which consists of a team of 12 teachers. He has been a coach his entire teaching career. Rustin is pursuing a Masters in Educational Administration and Leadership. He is currently the head coach of both the girls’ and boys’ soccer programs at GMS. He has also been an assistant soccer coach at their high school where they have won seven state championships between the girls’ and boys’ programs since 2015. Rustin is excited about sharing Founding Forward professional development opportunities with other teachers so they may participate and have the opportunities Founding Forward has given him.
