Dorothy Sasso has been teaching middle and high school history since 2006. She began her teaching career at Trevor Day School in New York City, and is currently working at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in Philadelphia. Along with teaching history, she runs a current events elective for seventh and eighth graders. She is passionate about creating space for civil dialogue both in and out of the classroom. Additionally, she is the choreographer for the 6th-8th grade musical and runs a 5th grade drama program, where she writes, directs and choreographs an original production. She loves dedicating a portion of every summer to professional development, enjoying opportunities like Founding Forward and the White House History Teacher Institute. When not in the classroom, Mrs. Sasso enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, tap dancing, and exercising.
