Brock Beaver, Social Studies Curriculum Specialist for Dorchester District Two in South Carolina, offers 25 years of combined service in education. He has taught at the middle and high school levels, and he has served as a curriculum specialist for 11 years. Brock believes that civics education, namely civic dispositions and civil discourse, provide the foundations for students to become responsible and successful citizens. By serving with Founding Forward, he hopes to share the vast network and support of teachers nationwide to build confidence within educators at all levels to model and facilitate civics instruction. In his spare time, Brock loves to travel with his family, listen to live music, and cook.
