William I. McGarrigle is a longtime Social Studies teacher at Taunton High School, where he currently teaches 9th Grade World History I and 10th Grade US History I. Additionally, he works closely with student clubs and leadership groups. With more than 25 years of experience in both middle and high school classrooms, he has taught a wide range of courses including Ancient Civilizations, World History, U.S. History, and Economics. William holds a Master of Education from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and is professionally licensed in Political Science and Political Philosophy. He continually seeks out opportunities to improve his teaching skills. In the last several years he has attended a number of national teacher training to include Founding Forward, Sphere Institute, NEH Space Age on the Space Coast and Fort Ticonderoga. Outside the classroom, he has spent many years coaching youth sports and serving in church and community programs. He lives in East Taunton and values building strong relationships with students, families, and the broader community. He is also a passionate New England Sports fan and has performed as Silver City’s Santa Bill for over 30 years!
