Amy LaCroix Marshall is an 8th Grade U.S. History teacher in Frisco Independent School District at Lawler Middle School in Frisco, Texas. Born and raised in the state of Illinois, Amy is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University. She became a “Texas Transplant” in 2006. With twenty-five years of classroom experience, Amy has taught almost every grade from kindergarten thru eighth. Her true passion is teaching U.S. history with a strong love for the American Revolution, Civil War, and Reconstruction eras. Her classroom instruction includes creating an engaging, student-centered learning environment that fosters both knowledge acquisition and skill development. She loves to design opportunities for her students to be active participants in their own learning process! Outside of the classroom, Amy writes and develops unique curriculum materials for history students throughout the United States and frequently assists with professional development opportunities for other educators in the state of Texas. As a Founding Forward ambassador, Amy hopes to continue to inspire others to study the stories of individuals and groups who overcame challenges, fought for justice, and made significant contributions to society.
