Amanda Hughes is a curriculum designer, teacher leader, and lifelong learner based in Burlington, Vermont. A graduate of Harvard University, Amanda has taught high school humanities for over fifteen years. She has designed curriculum for courses ranging from AP Literature and Composition, to Public Speaking, to Theatre Design. A self-professed “data nerd,” Amanda maintains an administrative license as a curriculum director and loves to brainstorm creative ways to increase student achievement in literacy. Over the years, she has had the honor of collaborating with Founding Forward, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Ford’s Theatre, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the National World War Two Museum in addition to appearing as a presenter at NCTE and NCSS. Amanda is passionate about place-based learning, disciplinary literacy, and spending time with her family.
