Founding Forward’s Good Citizen Day on the Road is a one-day civic education program, co-hosted with a partner organization, for 10th and 11th-grade students.
Good Citizen Day has been held over eight decades by Founding Forward at The Union League of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This program was created to recognize, celebrate, and educate students to be engaged and responsible citizens. The program includes workshops and discussions about the Constitution, as well as other critical lessons in civic education. There are currently over 18,000 Good Citizenship awardees.
Founding Forward recognizes there are a plethora of students across the country that deserve this recognition, which is why we are taking this program on the road!
For the first time in over 80 years, this program will be available to students across the nation thanks to partner organizations. Through Good Citizen Day on the Road, students will be able to engage with local organizations and students, recognize outstanding student leaders, and help ensure a future rooted in liberty.
A partner organization interested in hosting a Good Citizen Day on the Road event is encouraged to contact Founding Forward so we can share more information on the process.
Students are nominated to participate in the program from partner organizations. General applications outside of the approved agencies are not accepted.
Students are nominated by their agencies for the following qualities: demonstrate hard work and fair play, have personal attributes of honesty, courage, tolerance, curiosity, and loyalty, and endeavors to follow and uphold the principles of American patriotism.
