  • a fun-filled outing to Arnold’s Family Fun Center featuring go-karts, ropes climbing course, laser tag, and more
  • an interactive trip to Valley Forge National Historical Park
  • an immersive art experience with Historic Yellow Springs
  • exciting team-building exercises
  • engaging sports competitions
  • and much, much more!

Why Civic Explorers?

Founding Forward’s Civic Explorers Day Camp is unlike any other — campers experience hands-on, site-based adventures that connect directly to history, including:

  • A trip to Historic Yellow Springs, a Revolutionary War campsite and hospital, where they will partake in a guided tour of the campus and printmaking workshop. During the studio portion, participants will design and print their own “Frankenplant” remedies inspired by historical herbal medicine practices, create a series of prints, and select a print to contribute to a collaborative “herbal archive.”
  • A guided journey through Valley Forge National Historical Park, where campers will walk in the footsteps of Washington’s Army, hear incredible stories of sacrifice and survival, and experience history through immersive, unforgettable activities.

All week long, campers will be challenged to think boldly, question creatively, and draw inspiration from the past to imagine what’s possible in the future.

Surrounded by history

We want campers to have a fun and fulfilling week with others, making it their best week of the summer.

Our day camp is based on our private, 75-acre campus adjacent to Valley Forge National Historical Park. On this beautiful property, we have program and classroom spaces, administrative offices, and more. Day Camp students will also visit our 42-acre living Medal of Honor Grove, located on our campus, and will learn about the characteristics of courage, integrity, commitment, sacrifice, citizenship, and patriotism.

Uniquely YOU

Campers will dive into a fun mix of activities that push them to think outside the box, show off their unique talents, and grow their confidence and leadership skills. This is the place where creativity runs wild, and every kid gets to shine!

Building the leaders of tomorrow

Through exciting challenges, friendly competitions, and unforgettable experiences at Valley Forge National Historical Park and the Medal of Honor Grove, campers will discover what it truly means to be a leader. They’ll leave with big values, bold character, and the confidence to make a difference — at camp, at school, and in their communities!
