Public Affairs: Military Leadership in the 21st Century

Date & Time

|

6:00 PM

Description

Marine Corps General Frank McKenzie was Commander of U.S. Central Command from 2019 – 2022, where he oversaw some of the most important ― and controversial ― operations in modern U.S. military history. He had direct operational responsibility for the strikes on Iran’s Quds Force leader Qassem Soleimani and two successive leaders of ISIS, the deterrence operations against Iran and its proxies, and the methodical drawdown in Iraq. He also directed the noncombatant evacuation operation in Afghanistan and final withdrawal. From his book, The Melting Point, General McKenzie will share from his wealth of experience and the lessons he learned, including the importance of civilian control over the military, the unique role of combat commanders, and profound impact of individual leaders on the battlefield.

This program will be hosted in-person at the Union League of Philadelphia. Registration is required.
