Library Hour: Do We Still Like Ike? Eisenhower’s Legacy

Date & Time

|

6:00 PM

Description

Dwight Eisenhower’s work as both a general and president earned him the respect and admiration of generations of Americans, even as he ended his political career deeply worried about the future of the American experiment. More than fifty years after his death, most Americans have a superficial, at best, understanding of either his accomplishments or his warnings. In this presentation, Dr. Ronald Granieri, Professor of History in the Department of National Security and Strategy at the United States Army War College, will take a fresh look at Eisenhower, to discuss what his life and work can still teach us today.

Eisenhower was one of the founding members of Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge which merged with The Union League Legacy Foundation in 2024 to create Founding Forward.
