Liberty Series: Inside the Supreme Court

The 2024-2025 year saw several significant Supreme Court rulings on the topics of firearm regulations, free speech, environmental regulations, and executive authority on homeland security. This program promises to provide an enlightening and unique look at the cases both behind and ahead of the Court. Highlights will include cases on the First Amendment, birthright citizenship, and a preview of what is on the docket for the coming court year.

Michael J. Gerhardt is the Burton Craige Distinguished Professor of Jurisprudence at UNC-Chapel Hill, where his research focuses on constitutional conflicts and separation of powers. He has testified more than 20 times before Congress. Robert P. George is the McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence and Director of the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions. He is a former Judicial Fellow at the Supreme Court and served as a presidential appointee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights. Stefanie Lindquist, the Nickerson Dean and Professor of Law at WashU Law, will moderate.

This program will be hosted in-person at The Union League of Philadelphia – 140 S Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19102. Registration is required. Please register through this event to attend. Should you wish to view the program virtually, the program will be available through Founding Forward’s YouTube.

Villanova University’s Charles Widger School of Law will offer CLE credits for those who attend in person.
