One of the most influential public intellectuals in modern U.S. history, William F. Buckley Jr. (1925–2008) defined the conservative movement of the mid-20th century and was one of its most recognizable spokesmen. Author of more than 50 books, Buckley founded National Review, one of the nation’s leading conservative publications, and hosted the Emmy Award–winning public affairs television program Firing Line. Charles C. W. Cooke, Senior Editor at National Review, will reflect on the life and work of Buckley, his legacy, and influence on the America’s political and social landscape. Cooke‘s work has focused especially on Anglo-American history, British liberty, free speech, the Second Amendment, and American exceptionalism. He is the host of The Charles C. W. Cooke Podcast and has written for the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times.

This program will be hosted in-person at the Union League of Philadelphia. Registration is required.
