Our Campuses

At Founding Forward, we believe it is important to bring individuals to the places where history happened. Our two campuses, in historic Philadelphia and Valley Forge, provide unmatched immersive learning experiences in the very places where liberty was conceived, fought for, and preserved.

The Union League of Philadelphia

Our Philadelphia campus is located within the Heritage Center in The Union League of Philadelphia. The Heritage Center is 10,000-square feet of space dedicated for Founding Forward. This space includes office space, event space, a small museum space, high-density collections storage, and more. We also use the entire League House for much of Founding Forward’s work in Philadelphia. The Union League of Philadelphia was founded with a civic and philanthropic mission to support President Abraham Lincoln’s policies, abolition, and to save the Union. This work continues today through Founding Forward’s historic preservation, education, scholarship, and speaker series programs at The Union League of Philadelphia.

In addition to hosting Founding Forward educational events, including events that commemorate America’s 250th anniversary, the League House showcases items from the League’s art collection, including commissioned portraits. Exhibits and tours welcome guests to further deepen their knowledge of American history and the Union League, and our extensive archival collection is a unique resource for research.

How to visit the Heritage Center:

  • Founding Forward is excited to announce a new exhibit on the Declaration of Independence, “Crafting Independence: America’s Founding Story,” in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
  • This new exhibit will open in the spring/summer in the Russell P. Heuer Room of the Heritage Center on the ground floor of the League House.
  • Once the exhibit opens in 2026, it will be open to the public every Tuesday and Thursday, 3:00 to 6:00 pm, and the second Saturday, 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

Medal of Honor Grove

On our Valley Forge campus, 42 acres are dedicated as the Medal of Honor Grove. The Grove honors all 3,500+ Medal of Honor recipients by the state or territory from which they enlisted in service. The Medal of Honor is the highest award for valor in action against an enemy force for those who serve in the Armed Services of the United States.

This natural woodland is the oldest living memorial honoring these brave individuals. The Grove is owned by Founding Forward and maintained by a separate nonprofit organization, the Friends of the Medal of Honor Grove.
