New Crafting Independence: “All Men Are Created Equal” Exhibit
Founding Forward and the Union League’s America250 Committee are proud to present a new exhibit located in the Heritage Center of The Union League of Philadelphia Crafting Independence: “All Men Are Created Equal”.
Opening on June 8, 2026, this exhibit explores America’s founding ideals of liberty, equality, and merit – first articulated in Philadelphia through the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. It traces the nation’s ongoing struggle to fulfill those ideals, from the persistence of slavery and the Civil War under Abraham Lincoln to the creation of the Union League in support of the Union and the proposition that all men are created equal.
This exhibit is part of the celebrations of America’s Semiquincentennial. It is also designed as part of the Path of Patriots podcast, produced by the Union League’s America250 Committee. See below to learn more about the Path of Patriots.
Location:
Heritage Center, The Union League of Philadelphia
140 S Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA
Public Hours:
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:00pm to 6:00pm
Second Saturday of the month, 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Path of Patriots

Path of Patriots is a self-guided audio walking tour that brings visitors into the streets of Civil War–era Philadelphia to explore the founding of The Union League of Philadelphia, one of the nation’s most influential civic institutions.
This series brings to life extraordinary moments and places, while honoring the commitment and patriotism of the Union League’s founders at a time when the Declaration of Independence faced its greatest test.
